PEER OBSERVATION AND DEBATE AS TOOLS FOR EUROPEAN CITIZENS

The tradition of performing successful international European projects at Electromechanical School Varaždin continues. One of such projects has just started with an initial meeting with all the participants in Varaždin.

A new project event under the Erasmus + projects at the Electromachanical School, entitled Peer Evaluation and Debate as Tools for European Citizens, began with the transnational meeting of the professors from the participating countries and schools from 14. to 18. November 2016. The project will last two years, from 2016. to 2018.
The topics of this first meeting were related to the agreement on the implementation of the project.
Project leaders are Liceo Scientifico Antonio Banfi School staff from Milan, Italy, and partner schools from Larnaca to Cyprus, ESY from Croatia, Como from Milan to Italy, Spanish schools from Barcelona and Istanbul from Turkey.
Electromechanical School's team made by Igor Kos, Director, Coordinator Miroslav Smuđ and Matija Škerbić, Boris Rutić, Dunja Turk, Tatjana Plantak, Ratko Kovačić and Nevena Šanjek designed and conducted the first meeting full of different events.

After that, the representatives of the schools presented their schools and the professors, participants of the project. Electromechanical school was presented by director Igor Kos and psychologist Ratko Kovačić.
Interesting and useful presentations were the ones on experience with peer evaluation in other schools. Boris Rutić, a pedagogue who has been conducting a collegial peer evaluation of teaching at Electromechanical School, has been talking about his peer evaluation experiences.
Further action and encounters were agreed on.
The next project activity will be held in the Italian town of Como where the hosts will organize a training for professors who will perform their collegial observer activities among teachers and students in their schools and organize student debates. The project will continue with the mobility of teachers for training and training. Each of the involved schools will continue to carry out various activities involving students and professors.
Seven students from each of the schools highlighted during the work will participate in the final debate in Cyprus in 2018 and will be preparing for this final meeting in the Italian city of Milan where the achievements of the previous work will be presented.
Preparation activities and communication will take place via Skype, eTweening, Dropbox, WhatsApp.
For all the participants of the first meeting, a visit to Zagreb was organized for the purpose of sightseeing of cultural sights.
